Custom Tap Tempo Pedal
I want to make a tap tempo pedal for my board that will control the timing of my Strymon Timeline and a Electo Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man. I think the best was to achieve this is to use a stereo 1/4 jack and use a stereo to mono spliter and connect it to both pedals.
This is from Strymon about the matter:
Many of you have asked us which external TAP tempo switches we recommend be used along with our TimeLine delay machine pedal. While we cannot recommend any products in particular we can tell you that the TimeLine will work with any external TAP tempo switch as long as the switch is designed with a single pole, double throw (SPDT) type switch that switches the TIP between the SLEEVE (ground or 0VDC) to the RING (5VDC).
- Here are the parts I’m thinking of using.
- Hammond 1590 LB [PreDrilled]
- DPDT Momentary switch [here]
- 1/4 in. Stereo Jack [Here]
- Blue LED [here]
- DC Jack [here]
- 1/4W 1% Metal Film Resistor 1.2k [here]
If you want to drill your own holes and save a few bucks on the Hammond 1590 LB, here are the hole dimensions you need.
The output jack hole is 3/8″
The switch post hole is 15/32″
