Built this Klon buffer for my pedal board. Nothing special, just a good ol’ buffer.

Just as my last post, this is a Big Muff tone stack but with Beavis Audio’s added “body” control. Here is some info

The indomitable Jack Orman (www.muzique.com) has researched the Big Muff Tone control and suggested various improvements. One of these improvements is to add a Body pot that provides more control over the response of the circuit. This version uses a 3.3k ohm resistor in place of the stock 22k value, and adds a 25k pot to ground. This provide you with a tone control that can handle both flat and “scooped” frequency response.

BMP Tone Stack Beavis Tone Mod (TRANSFER)

I found myself trying the BMP tone stack on most fuzzes and found it works quite well with  pedals like the Colorsound One Knob Fuzz and other small builds. I thought it would cool to have a small PCB that I could add it to any build. Very basic but effective. Attached is the PDF to print the PCB transfer.

BMP Tone Stack (TRANSFER)

This is a great delay designed by 1776 Effects and I recommend any/everyone to get this and build it. Its a great combination of delays. From the classic Binson Echorec made very popular by Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour to the Roland RE-201 classic tape delay and last but not least, the Echoplex EP-3. Each delay has its own subtle differences. The Echorec mode has a great duel delay controls for a “one long delay and many short delays mode”. I found it to be very usable. This is a duel PT2399 based delay and with long delay times distorting some, but in a good way.

Update: I was having issues with the Binson & RE-201 modes with distortion on the 2nd repeats and so forth. It was suggested to me over at Madbean’s forums that the voltage regulator might be bad. I busted out the digital multi-meter and found that I had almost exactly 5 volts coming out of the regulator and on pin 1 on both PT2399’s. I decided to replace both PT2399’s and the problem went away. Whats weird is the pedal worked perfect for 2 days then it started distorting. I guess we will see with in time how this set of PT’s do.

This is built from a Madbean Mudbunny PCB to Violet Ram’s Head specs. This is one of my favorite transistor based Big Muffs stock. I was thinking of adding a Mids/Focus controls but decided to keep the stock tone stack. All hail the pink madness!

DPDT Mod Board v1.0:

This was inspired by the mod board built by GuitarPCB but was only available pre-fabricated. I decided to make my own version and give the transfer away for free. I have used this for diode switching and a few power 9v to 18v switching in the last few weeks. I think the version 2 of this will allow for trim pots. DPDT Mod Board (TRANSFER)

I am making a few variants of the Big Muff Pi. I am working on doing a Pharaoh and a musket first then a P19 or something like that. In using the Madbean Mudbunny as a base PCB for these.

It’s a Madbean RoadRage charge pump. I wanted a nice small power supply for my bench to test with and this fit the bill until I get a true bench power supply. I have 4 DC jacks on that put out 18v, 15v, 9v & -9v. I Just need to pick up some number stamps so I can label this thing.
